Softball Recap: Western Reserve Wins Going Away Against Mansfield Christian

Western Reserve got themselves on the board against Mansfield Christian on Friday, but Mansfield Christian never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Flames. Considering the Roughriders' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Claire Kinney was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Makayla Case, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

The victory got Western Reserve back to even at 2-2. As for Mansfield Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Western Reserve and Mansfield Christian will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Roughriders will square off against rival Crestview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Mansfield Christian is set to take on their familiar foe Crestline at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
