Softball Game Preview: Rochelle Hubs vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

The Rochelle Hubs will take on the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Rochelle fell victim to Plano and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They lost 7-0 to the Reapers. Having soared to a lofty 17 runs in the game before, the Hubs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Rochelle saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Dyer, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Meanwhile, Dixon owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They walked away with a 4-0 win over DeKalb. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Dukes & Duchesses.

The result came thanks to Allie Abell's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Kennedy Haenitsch was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Bailey Tegeler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Rochelle's loss dropped their record down to 9-20. As for Dixon, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
