Yucaipa dropped down to 6-10 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 3-0 to the Etiwanda Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Thunderbirds have suffered since September 3rd.

As for Etiwanda, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since August 9th (when they won 3-0).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Etiwanda to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alannis Machuca, who had seven digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Machuca a new career-high in kills (two). Meaalofa Tauaese was another key player, getting 12 assists and four digs.

Coming up, Yucaipa will square off against El Dorado at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Etiwanda, they will take on Orange Lutheran at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday.
