Basketball Recap: Grangeville Bulldogs vs. Priest River Spartans
Grangeville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Priest River Spartans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bulldogs of the 60-56 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Priest River to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nate Stiffel, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine boards. Stiffel is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Carter Cook was another key player, going 5 for 6 en route to 11 points.
Grangeville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Priest River, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
