Football Game Preview: Lago Vista Vikings vs. Navarro Panthers

The Lago Vista Vikings will venture away from home to take on the Navarro Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Lago Vista turned things around against Smithville last Friday. They claimed a resounding 46-7 victory over the Tigers. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 473rd, while the Tigers are ranked 974th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Navarro). They blew past Smithville 48-27 on Friday. The Panthers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 15, 2024 (when they won 56-14).

Navarro's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Lago Vista, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Lago Vista strolled past Navarro when the teams last played back in November of 2024 by a score of 23-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
