Soccer Game Preview: Lincoln vs. Pilgrim

The Lincoln Lions are taking a road trip to take on the Pilgrim Patriots at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Thursday, neither Lincoln nor St. Raphael Academy could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Tre Baker and Mahdi Ziani scored both of the Lions' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Meanwhile, Pilgrim faced Mt. Hope in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Patriots played to a draw too, finishing 0-0 against the Huskies. The result was nothing new for Pilgrim as the team haven't won a game since October 3rd.

Pilgrim's draw makes their record 8-6-3 this season. Meanwhile, Lincoln's record is now 8-4-4.

Lincoln took their win against Pilgrim in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lions since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
