Soccer Game Preview: Juan Diego Catholic vs. Hunter

The Juan Diego Catholic Soaring Eagle will face off against the Hunter Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Juan Diego Catholic had taken Judge Memorial Catholic down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Soaring Eagle came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Hunter managed to keep up with Ridgeline until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Wolverines lost 3-0 to the Riverhawks. That's two games in a row now that Hunter have lost by exactly three goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Hunter and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Juan Diego Catholic, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-7.

Juan Diego Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Hunter when the teams last played back in March of 2016, winning 3-1. Will the Soaring Eagle repeat their success, or do the Wolverines have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
