Mamou has gone a perfect 6-0 against Ville Platte recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Mamou will host Ville Platte at 5:00 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Tuesday.
Mamou took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They never let Delcambre get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The high-scoring effort was just what the Demons needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Ashlyn Thibodeaux made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Mamou let Kelci Fontenot and Jaidan Richard run wild. Fontenot scored three runs while going 3-for-3, while Richard scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Fontenot a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Danilynn Landreneau, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
Mamou was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Delcambre only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Ville Platte had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Northwest with a sharp 22-5 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by 15 runs or more so far this season.
Laila Lewis was a standout: she scored three runs and stole six bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Janaih Leday, who scored four runs and stole five bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances.
Mamou is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-12-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. Ville Platte now has a winning record of 6-5.
Tuesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mamou hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .340. However, it's not like Ville Platte struggles in that department as they've averaged .406. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
