Basketball Preview: Wetumpka Indians vs. Pelham Panthers
Wetumpka hasn't had much luck against Pelham recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Having just played yesterday, the Indians will jump right back in to play the Panthers at 1:30 p.m. Wetumpka knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matchups -- so hopefully Pelham likes a good challenge.
Wetumpka took a 35-point loss the last time they faced off against Brewbaker Tech, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Indians narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Rams 63-61.

Kaleb Ballard was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 15 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Chris Robinson was another key player, almost dropping a triple-double with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and nine assists.
Wetumpka smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.
Meanwhile, Pelham strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 75-44 win over Mortimer Jordan. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.
Pelham's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Wetumpka, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
