Recap: Chazy Eagles vs. Boquet Valley Griffins
After a string of three wins, the Chazy Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They were dealt a 59-32 defeat at the hands of Boquet Valley. While losing is never fun, Chazy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 599th, while Boquet Valley is ranked 262nd).
Jackson Hooper was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds for Boquet Valley. Hooper also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Carson Leibeck, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Chazy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Boquet Valley, they pushed their record up to 9-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chazy will take on Johnsburg Central at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Boquet Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Willsboro Central at 6:30 p.m. Willsboro Central is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
