Momence came into Monday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against the Illinois Lutheran Chargers by a score of 2-0 on Monday. Surprisingly, this marked the Momence Athletics' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Momence easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-14.

Genesis Ramirez paced Momence's offense, picking up five kills. Ramirez got some help from Aden Garcia and her seven assists. Kinsley Young and Adyki Gunn kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

Momence's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 6-20. As for Illinois Lutheran, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-18 record this season.

Momence will host Midland at 6:00 p.m. on the 28th. Illinois Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
