Basketball Recap: Valley Comes Up Short

Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Artesia Bulldogs an easy 59-39 victory. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 41-37 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March.

Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Artesia, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Valley and Rio Rancho will round out the year against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 29th. The Vikings' defense better be ready for this one: the Rams have averaged an impressive 68.6 points per game this season. As for Artesia, they will face off against Farmington at 9:45 a.m. on the 29th. The Bulldogs' defense better be ready for this one: the Scorpions have averaged an impressive 64 points per game this season.
