Volleyball Recap: Whitfield Warriors vs. Brentwood Eagles
After flying high against KIPP on Tuesday, Whitfield came back down to earth. The Warriors fell just short of the Brentwood Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Whitfield actually scored more points across those five sets (104-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The final score came out to 25-17, 21-25, 25-23, 16-25, 16-14.
Sophia Beuc paced Whitfield's offense, picking up 19 kills. Beuc got some help from Layla Gammage and her 30 assists. Natalie Michelman controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Whitfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-20. As for Brentwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-4 record this season.
As of now, neither Whitfield nor Brentwood have any future games scheduled.
