Soccer Game Preview: Casteel vs. Chandler

The Casteel Colts will take on the Chandler Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Casteel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Pinnacle, who was ranked first at the time (Casteel was ranked 23rd). Neither Casteel nor Pinnacle could gain the upper hand on Monday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time the Colts have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Chandler managed to keep up with Cesar Chavez until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Chandler lost 3-0 to Cesar Chavez.

Chandler has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-3 record this season. Casteel's draw makes their record 4-4-3 this season.

Casteel was able to grind out a solid win over Chandler in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 3-1. Will Casteel repeat their success, or does Chandler have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
