Soccer Game Preview: Shorecrest vs. Shorewood

The Shorecrest Scots will venture away from home to take on the Shorewood Stormrays at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Shorecrest barely beat Oak Harbor the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Scots never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for Shorecrest in their matchups with Oak Harbor: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Shorewood waltzed into their game on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 5-1 win. With Shorewood ahead 3-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Their offense was hitting Meadowdale from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal.

Shorecrest pushed their record up to 9-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three contests. As for Shorewood, their victory bumped their record up to 13-2-1.

Shorecrest beat Shorewood by a goal in their previous meeting back in April, winning 1-0. Do the Scots have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Stormrays turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
