Baseball Recap: Windsor's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Windsor had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bishop DuBourg Cavaliers a 10-0 shutout on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Owls' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Lincoln Forchee made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Windsor is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-12 otherwise. Forchee was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Keegan Murphy was a standout: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He has become a key player for Windsor: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-13 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Adam Streicher, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Windsor always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Windsor's victory bumped their record up to 7-13. As for Bishop DuBourg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season.

Windsor has already played their next game, a 7-3 win against Herculaneum on the 29th. As for Bishop DuBourg, they will head out on the road to take on St. Pius X at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
