Basketball Game Preview: Brazosport Christian Eagles vs. Legacy Christian Academy Warriors

The Brazosport Christian Eagles will square off against the Legacy Christian Academy Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Brazosport Christian took a blow against O'Connell, falling 86-48. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Buccaneers recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Brazosport Christian's defeat came about despite a quality game from Luke Coburn, who posted 20 points.

Even though they lost, Brazosport Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Legacy Christian Academy waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They strolled past the Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 48-33. Given the Warriors' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 711th, while the Mustangs are ranked 1459th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Legacy Christian Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Brazosport Christian, their loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-6.

Brazosport Christian was taken down by Legacy Christian Academy 78-27 when the teams last played back in January of 2021. Can Brazosport Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
