Soccer Game Preview: Southside vs. Westside

The Southside Tigers will head out to square off against the Westside Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Southside is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.

If Westside heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Southside took over last week. The Tigers blew past Wren 5-1 on Thursday. ADRIEL RODRIGUEZ was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Westside didn't have quite enough to beat Wren on Monday and fell 2-1. The defeat continues a trend for Westside in their meetings with Wren: they've now lost six in a row.

Southside's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Westside, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 5-7.

Southside came out on top in a nail-biter against Westside when the teams last played back in April of 2025, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
