Soccer Game Preview: Alamosa vs. Lamar

The Alamosa Mean Moose will venture away from home to challenge the Lamar Thunder at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Alamosa had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the eight-goal drubbing they dealt Florence on Tuesday. Alamosa never let Florence get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. Jayden Wubben was a massive factor in the win as she booted in three goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Lamar made easy work of Bruce Randolph on Tuesday and carried off a 6-2 win.

Lamar now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Alamosa, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Everything went Alamosa's way against Lamar in their previous matchup back in March of 2018, as Alamosa made off with a 9-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alamosa since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
