Baseball Game Preview: Lakota Raiders vs. Fostoria Redmen

The Lakota Raiders will face off against the Fostoria Redmen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The last four games Lakota has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Lakota took a ten-run defeat the last time they faced off against Calvert, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Raiders had just enough and edged out the Senecas 6-5.

AJ Gosche and Hunter Sweeney did most of the damage at the plate: Gosche scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Sweeney scored a run while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Sweeney a new career-high in RBI (three). Grant Bomer was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous three contests, Fostoria brought some dynamite into their most recent matchup. They were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over Lima Senior on Thursday. The Redmen not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 20, 2024.

Fostoria's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Lakota, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Lakota beat Fostoria 8-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2017. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Redmen have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
