Football Recap: El Dorado Comes Up Short

If El Dorado was riding high fresh off their 41-0 takedown of Galt last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars had to suffer through a 46-14 loss at the hands of the Liberty Ranch Hawks. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-7.

El Dorado lost on Friday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Logan Kruse, who picked up 140 receiving yards and one score.

Wyatt Corriea produced another solid effort rushing for 291 yards and three TDs on only 12 carries for Liberty Ranch. Corriea really tore up the turf during one magnificent 86-yard run. Ryan Ogas was another major influence, as he rushed for 94 yards and ran in a TD.

El Dorado has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Liberty Ranch, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Coming up, El Dorado will challenge Rosemont at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Wolverines' defense has only allowed 13.6 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Liberty Ranch, they will square off against Bradshaw Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Corriea and Mason Pisarski.
