Baseball Recap: Sparta Takes a Loss

Sparta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Altoona Railroaders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Spartans of the 4-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Sparta's defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Altoona, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Sparta didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against Reedsburg on the 10th. As for Altoona, they will square off against Bloomer at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
