Softball Recap: Hoffman Estates Hawks vs. Maine South Hawks

Sadly, Hoffman Estates is still looking for their first win of the season after seven games. They wound up on the wrong side of a rough 17-0 walloping at the hands of the Maine South Hawks on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hoffman Estates of the 7-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2016.

For Maine South's part, Hannah Hoffman and Jessica Hoffman were a major factor while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Hoffman tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (she also only allowed one walk). Meanwhile, Hoffman struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits (and only one walk). At the plate, Hoffman scored a run while going 3-for-5, while Hoffman went 3-for-3 with three runs, a triple, and two RBI.
