Football Recap: Stillwater Piles Up the Points Against Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian

Stillwater's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian Rams 55-0. That looming 55-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Stillwater to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aidan Callanan, who rushed for 71 yards and two scores on only five carries, and also threw for 43 yards and three touchdowns. Those three passing touchdowns gave Callanan a new career-high. Ryan Brown was another key rusher, rushing for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only 14 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Stillwater was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 275 rushing yards. They are a perfect 4-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Stillwater didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Bryce Peterson, Erick Naze, and Callanan picked up one apiece.

Stillwater now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Stillwater is set to take on their familiar foe Warrensburg/Lake George/Bolton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Rensselaer/Loudonville Christian will square off against rival Voorheesville on Friday.
