Basketball Recap: Matthew Pappas' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Heritage Christian Academy over St. Paul's Prep

The matchup between Heritage Christian Academy and St. Paul's Prep on Tuesday hardly resembled the 26-18 effort from their previous meeting. The Heritage Christian Academy Lions fell to the St. Paul's Prep Lions 56-51. Heritage Christian Academy's defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matthew Pappas, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Graham Hicks, who put up 12 points.

Wyatt Tate was his usual excellent self, putting up 32 points and three steals for St. Paul's Prep. That makes it five consecutive games in which Tate has scored at least a third of St. Paul's Prep's points. Mateo Talavera was another key player, scoring seven points and four steals.

Heritage Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-18. As for St. Paul's Prep, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Heritage Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Paul's Prep, they will welcome Community Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
