Basketball Game Preview: Jackson Aggies vs. Orange Beach Makos

The Jackson Aggies will face off against the Orange Beach Makos on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Jackson comes in on 13 and Orange Beach on eight.

Jackson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They strolled past Bullock County with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Hornets are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Jackson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Keeyun Chapman out in front who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. What's more, Chapman also posted a 80% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Joseph Taylor, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 18 points and four steals.

Jackson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in seven consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Orange Beach won against Dale County on Tuesday with 51 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. Orange Beach beat Dale County by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 51-43.

Orange Beach's win bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Jackson, their victory bumped their record up to 20-4.

Everything went Jackson's way against Orange Beach in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, as Jackson made off with a 69-47 win. Does Jackson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Orange Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
