Baseball Recap: Fairmont Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Fairmont's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Springboro Panthers by a score of 6-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jackson Furr was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Miles Osterfeld was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Fairmont pushed their record up to 7-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Springboro, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-3.

Fairmont will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
