Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bloomington North). They took their matchup on Friday with ease, bagging a 57-0 victory over the Southport Cardinals. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Cardinals recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Bloomington North's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Bargen, who threw for 303 yards and five TDs while completing 76.2% of his passes. Those 303 passing yards gave Bargen a new career-high. Bloomington North's leading receiver Rashon English was Bargen's top target yet again, picking up 144 receiving yards and three scores.

Bloomington North's win bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Southport, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches.
