Softball Recap: Schuylkill Valley Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Schuylkill Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. Everything went their way against the Oley Valley Lynx on Wednesday as they made off with a 9-2 victory. Considering the Panthers have won five matchups by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Katelyn Raymond spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Kayla Konetsky was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Ella Martin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Schuylkill Valley's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Oley Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season.

Coincidentally, Schuylkill Valley and Oley Valley will both be playing Schuylkill Haven the next time they take the field. The Lynx will head out to face the Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Panthers will head out to face them at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
