Preview: Orange Lions vs. Richmond Heights Spartans
The Orange Lions will head out on the road to take on the Richmond Heights Spartans at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Orange will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 593rd, while Richmond Heights is ranked 142nd).
Last Saturday, Orange was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairview, taking the game 53-44.
Rachel Oberster continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Kya Fleshman was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Richmond Heights suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Saturday. They were dealt a 68-29 loss at the hands of Brush. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Richmond Heights in their matchups with Brush: they've now lost three in a row.
Orange has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. As for Richmond Heights, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2.
Orange was taken down by Richmond Heights 63-30 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Orange avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
