Basketball Recap: Chilton County Comes Up Short

If Chilton County was feeling good fresh off their 67-32 takedown of Isabella last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chilton County Tigers lost to the Thorsby Rebels at home by a 61-47 margin on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Chilton County lost, don't look at Marshall Thornhill. Despite the final result, he made all 6 shots he took for 15 points along with six steals and five boards. The dominant performance gave Thornhill a new career-high in points. Cayden Meank was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Chilton County has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Thorsby, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Chilton County has already played their next match, a 63-47 loss against Calera on the 14th. As for Thorsby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-58 win against Jemison on the 11th.
