Basketball Recap: Northgate Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Northgate put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past the Antioch Panthers 66-44. The Broncos have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matches by 20 points or more this season.

Grayson Boustead was his usual excellent self, going 7 of 11 on his way to 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rufus Lee, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Northgate was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antioch only racked up four assists.

Several Panthers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Leondre Paige Jr, who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Simes, who posted eight points and five rebounds.

Northgate pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Antioch, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Northgate will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against American Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on December 23rd. Northgate is facing American Canyon at the right time seeing as American Canyon is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Antioch, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-42 loss against Bethel on the 14th.
