Marion County (Philadelphia, Mo.) was left with two players this week after four of its six players fouled out and, amazingly, the Mustangs (4-11) pulled out a 51-50 win over Atlanta.
According to
whig.com, Marion County's
Ty Bowdish grabbed a rebound of a missed free throw, dribbled the length of the court, was fouled with 1.4 seconds left and made one of two freebies to break a 50-all tie. Bowdish, who had four fouls himself, scored his team's final 15 points to finish with a game-high 28 points.
Marion County players fouled out with 3 minutes left, 2:45 and 2:05 before a fourth was dismissed with just more than one minute left.
Atlanta (2-12) couldn't quite capitalize, even with only two Mustangs playing defense in the paint.
"Been playing, watching, coaching basketball at a lot of different levels," Marion County coach Justin Ellison said via Twitter after the game. "I've never seen anything like I did tonight."
