Staley strolled into their game on Monday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They put the hurt on the Rockhurst Hawklets with a sharp 10-3 victory. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by seven runs or more this season.

Jake Thomas looked comfortable as he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits.

At the plate, Evan Abbott and Easton Phillippe did most of the damage at the plate: Abbott went 3-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Phillippe scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. That double marked the first that Abbott hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Garcia, who scored two runs while going 1-for-1.

Staley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .516. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .353 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Staley pushed their record up to 12-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Rockhurst, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Staley will welcome Howell at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Rockhurst, they will challenge Lee's Summit North at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
