Basketball Game Preview: Falmouth Clippers vs. Barnstable Red Hawks

Falmouth and Barnstable are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Falmouth Clippers will head out to take on the Barnstable Red Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Falmouth is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Plymouth North just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a blow against the Eagles, falling 50-23. The match marked the Clippers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Barnstable entered their tilt with Southeastern RVT on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Hawks with a sharp 75-49 victory. The Red Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 21 points or more this season.

Barnstable's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 23.2 points. As for Falmouth, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.

Falmouth came up short against Barnstable when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 52-46. Can Falmouth avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
