Volleyball Recap: Chariho Falls Despite Big Games from Alexis Korus and Kaitlyn Smallridge + How To Watch

Chariho was the 3-0 winner over East Greenwich when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Chargers fell 3-1 to the Avengers on Wednesday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Chariho ultimately came up short, they really made East Greenwich work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 19-25, 25-21, 25-18.

Chariho's loss came despite strong showings from Kaitlyn Smallridge and Alexis Korus. Smallridge had seven aces and five digs, while Korus had eight kills and six digs. Smallridge is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last six games she's played. Lainey Marcille also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.

Chariho's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for East Greenwich, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Chariho is set to square off against their familiar foe North Kingstown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, East Greenwich will take on rival Prout at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
