Football Game Preview: Dunnellon Tigers vs. Vanguard Knights

The Dunnellon Tigers will face off against the Vanguard Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Dunnellon 11.6, Vanguard 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned.

Dunnellon is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Crystal River a 25-0 shutout. That 25 point margin sets a new team best for the Tigers this season.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Vanguard beat Mount Dora 19-13 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Vanguard now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Dunnellon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Dunnellon was able to grind out a solid win over Vanguard in their previous matchup back in February, winning 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
