Softball Recap: Birmingham Takes a Loss

Birmingham and Carson squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Birmingham had to settle for second. They came up short against the Colts, falling 16-5. The defeat continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Colts: they've now lost seven in a row.

Camila Guillen made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Birmingham's loss dropped their record down to 9-11. As for Carson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-3-1.

Birmingham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Carson, they will take on San Pedro at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Colts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Pirates have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
