Soccer Game Preview: Porter vs. West Fork

The Porter Spartans will challenge the West Fork Gators at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

Porter will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Tuesday, then bounced right back against Crosby on Friday. The Spartans narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Cougars 4-3. The win continues a trend for Porter in their matchups with Crosby: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, neither West Fork nor Dayton could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 2-2 draw.

Clark Dennis and Jesus Cardenas scored both of the Gators' goals, bringing their combined season tally to seven goals.

Porter's victory bumped their record up to 5-2. West Fork's draw gives them a new season record of 3-5-2.

Everything went Porter's way against West Fork in their previous matchup back in February of 2025, as Porter made off with a 5-1 win. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Gators have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
