Lewiston hadn't done well against Oxford Hills recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Blue Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 win over the Vikings. This was a revenge game for the Blue Devils: when they faced off against the Vikings last Monday, they had to take a 5-0 defeat.

Lewiston's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Oxford Hills, they moved to 14-2 with that loss, which also ended their 11-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lewiston will take on Brunswick at 11:00 a.m. on the 30th. As for Oxford Hills, they will face off against Messalonskee at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.55 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
