Volleyball Recap: Brighton Bulldogs vs. Columbine Rebels

After flying high against Mountain Range last Thursday, Brighton came back down to earth. The Brighton Bulldogs fell just short of the Columbine Rebels by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Brighton sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-20, 24-26, 15-11.

Jaedyn Symons paced Brighton's offense, picking up eight kills. Symons got some help from Kenna VonAh and her 15 assists. Symons also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Aubrey Miller, racking up two apiece.

Brighton's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Columbine, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-12.

Brighton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Basalt on the 2nd. Columbine has also already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against Castle View on the 2nd.
