Football Recap: Lecanto's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Lecanto won the last time they faced Citrus and Jt Tipton did his part to make sure it happened again. The Panthers blew past the Hurricanes, posting a 47-0 victory thanks in part to Tipton, who threw for 205 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Lecanto's success: the team is 3-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Lecanto, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Sovaunn Samms, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Lecanto's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB five times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up one apiece.

Lecanto's win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Citrus, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

Lecanto wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 50-0 victory against Lyman on the 10th. As for Citrus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 43-0 loss against Hernando on the 10th.
