Volleyball Recap: Mt. Olive Takes a Loss

Mt. Olive was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hillsboro Hiltoppers. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Hiltoppers from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-11.

Among those leading the charge was Briley Kirby, who had eight digs.

Mt. Olive's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Hillsboro, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Mt. Olive will square off against South County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hillsboro, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against North Mac on the 12th.
