Fremd lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Elk Grove, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Thursday's game. The Vikings' pitchers stepped up to hand the Grenadiers a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Fremd's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-2. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Elk Grove, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Looking ahead, Fremd will square off against Rolling Meadows at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Elk Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Dundee-Crown at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Grenadiers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Chargers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
