Softball Recap: Marion Takes a Loss

If Marion was riding high fresh off their 23-0 takedown of Bowler/Gresham Community last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Elcho Hornets on Tuesday, falling 16-4. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Marion saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caitlin Keller, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.

Marion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Elcho, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Marion will welcome Three Lakes/Phelps at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Elcho, they will head out on the road to challenge Newman Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
