Basketball Game Preview: Harding University Rams vs. West Charlotte Lions

Harding University is 1-9 against West Charlotte since November of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The two teams will face off at 6:00 p.m. without much rest having both just played. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Harding University is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Mallard Creek on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Harding University had to suffer through a 71-24 loss at the hands of Mallard Creek. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-17.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, West Charlotte's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Hough by a score of 66-64. While the Lions didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Huskies 16-10 in the first quarter.

West Charlotte's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Harding University, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.

Harding University came up short against West Charlotte when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 61-57. Can Harding University avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
