Softball Recap: Santa Rosa Panthers vs. Ukiah Wildcats
Santa Rosa had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-13 to make it 11. They lost 17-3 to the Ukiah Wildcats. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-4 back in April.
As for Ukiah, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-7-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games.
For Ukiah's part, Karis Jacobsen was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Jacobsen has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Ukiah got a massive performance out of Kaloni Brown, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Aliyah Rosario, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles.
