Football Recap: Fountain Hills Takes a Loss + How To Watch

If Fountain Hills was feeling good fresh off their 36-6 takedown of ALA - Anthem South last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons came up short against the Cortez Colts on Friday, falling 26-3.

Jamerrius Anthony produced another solid performance rushing for 127 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry, and also throwing for 122 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight passes for Cortez. Those 122 passing yards gave Anthony a new career-high.

Fountain Hills' loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cortez, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Fountain Hills will square off against Chino Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons are facing the Cougars at the right time seeing as the Cougars are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cortez, they will host Bourgade Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
