Recap: Nikiski Bulldogs vs. Soldotna Stars
The Nikiski Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Soldotna by a score of 39-36. Nikiski has not had much luck with Soldotna recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
When it comes to explaining why Nikiski lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shelby Burman. Despite the final result, she scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Alexa Iyatunguk, who scored eight points.
Nikiski's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Soldotna, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Nikiski didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-31 loss vs. Monroe Catholic on the 8th. Soldotna has also already played their next match, a 81-35 defeat against Colony on the 9th.
