Softball Recap: Ashville Comes Up Short

Ashville was the 10-1 winner over Leeds when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ansley Brashier made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that she hit this season. Annalynn Williamson was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Ashville's defeat dropped their record down to 23-12-1. As for Leeds, they pushed their record up to 13-11 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ashville will challenge Etowah at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Leeds, they will square off against Ramsay at 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.17 runs per game on average), something the Greenwave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
